The History of the RAPID
Built at Ferguson Industries, Pictou, Nova Scotia in 1963, Rapid and her sister Rally were ex-Canadian Coast Guard Cutters, CCGS Rapid and CCGS Rally. Taken over for training duties with the Navy, these vessels, based in Halifax NS, were chiefly used for training Naval Reservists.
