Presentation given to the House of Commons on July 9th, 1963 by Vide-Admiral H.S. Rayner, Chief of Naval Staff.
On the morning of Tuesday, July 9, 1963, Vice-Admiral H. S. Rayner, Chief of the Naval Staff, appeared before the House of Commons special committee on defence, under the chairmanship of Maurice Sauvé, MP. Admiral Rayners presentation, which was accompanied by slides, gave a comprehensive picture of the Royal Canadian Navy of today and its plans for the future:

CHAIRMAN, members of the committee, it is a great privilege for
me to appear before you and discuss with you some matters of particular
interest underlying the purpose and tasks of the Navy, the RCN as
it is today, including current ship construction programs, the strength
of the Navy, and naval expenditures in recent years.
