Azure, in base two barrulets undy argent, over all a sword in pale point downwards of the second, pommel and hilt or, enfiling a coronet of Canada of the last, and issuing from behind the sword blade wings conjoined white.

Significance

This badge design follows the basic design of that used by the Royal Navy for their 881 squadron. This design however, incorporates the coronet of Canada.

Remarks

The squadron was originally formed as Royal Navy Torpedo-BomberReconnaissance 826 in March 1940. Disbanded in 1942 it was briefly recommissioned in between August 1945 and February 1946. The squadron was reactivated on May 15, 1947 as part of 18th Carrier Air Group stationed in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and was renumbered 881 Squadron on May 1, 1951. The squadron was amalgamated into VS-880 on July 7, 1959. The squadron is no longer operational.
