Significance

The town of Victoriaville, in Quebec, is located in an area formerly referred to as the bois francs region. It was heavily forested with the hardwood varieties such as oak, elm, birch and so on. The badge design includes this reference and the Royal coronet for Queen Victoria The red saltire is from the civic arms of \lictoriaville.

Remarks

Victoriaville was a River class frigate. She was commissioned in November 1944 and wore pennant K684 until she was paid off in November 1945. She later underwent conversion to the Prestonian ocean escort configuration, and recommissioned in September 1959. She wore pennant 320 until finally paid off in December 1973.
