Significance

The badge design is a rebus on the name Swansea It shows the swan riding on the sea, holding the red maple leaf of Canada

Remarks

Swansea was a River class frigate. She was commissioned into the RCN in October 1943, and she wore pennant K328 until she was decommissioned in November 1945. After undergoing conversion to a Prestonian class ocean escort, she was recommissioned in November 1957. She wore pennant 306 until she was finally paid off in October 1966.
