Significance

A superb swimmer, capable of the most delicate of manoeuver both above and below the water, the symbol was appropriate for one of HMC ships.

Remarks

A member of the Bird class of patrol boats, Loon was commissioned in November 1955, and wore pennant 780 until she was decommissioned in August 1965.
