This badge differs little from its original RN counterpart. Only the addition a red maple leaf in the first canton of the shield belies the change. This cross, the Cross of St. George, was traditionally the emblem that the Crusade; carried when they went to the Holy Land to defeat the Infidels.
Crusader was a 'C' class destroyer. Originally HMS Crusader, she was commissioned into the RCN in November 1945. She wore pennant R20, then 228 until she was paid off in January 1960.
