Significance

The badge is a modification of that originally used by the RN. The Canadian badge depicts the field as navy blue instead of black, and a single red maple leaf is placed upon the crescent. Crescent was a ‘C’ class destroyer.

Remarks

Crescent was a 'C' class destroyer. Originally HMS Crescent, she was commissioned into the RCN in September 1945. She wore pennant Rl6, then 226 until she was paid off in April 1970.
