Significance

The badge design shows a cedar tree whose roots are in the sea. The tree is the heraldic version of the great cedars of the West Coast of Canada. This one stands against a golden background indicative of the setting sun in the west.

Remarks

HMCS Cedarwood was originally a survey vessel transferred to the RCN from the Federal Government. Wearing pennant 530, she commissioned in 1948, and paid off in 1956.
