(Glossary of Heraldic Terms)

Significance

This ship was named for the town of Brockville, Ontario, which was incorporated in 1832 and given its name in honour of the hero of Queenston Heights, General Sir Isaac Brock. Brock came from Guernsey and his family arms included a blue field bearing with a single gold fleur-de-lis and a lion in red on a white background. The same device on this badge shows one variation — the blue fleur-de-lis in the right paw of the lion.
