The History of HMCS GRIZZLY (1st)

Grizzly was commissioned on July 17, 1941, on the west coast, but the condition of her engines made it impractical for her to function effectively. She was therefore towed to Prince Rupert in July for use as a stationary guardship and examination vessel. In the spring of 1944 she was taken to Victoria, where her hull was found to be in poor condition. Paid off on June 17, she was broken up at Victoria the following year.
