Significance

In the design of this badge, the oceans of the world are depicted heraldically as a field of wavy white and blue lines. The V-shape is a symbol of growth and also the bow of a ship ploughing through the water.

Remarks

While the name Venture has been used by several vessels in the RCN, it is perhaps most recognizable as the name of the Junior Officer Training Establishment which was commissioned on August 11, 1954. The training center was paid off when the forces were unified. In September 1976, the Officer Training Division of Fleet School Esquimalt was established, and was moved into HMC Dockyard to the old Venture complex in 1977. More recently, as part of Training Group Pacific, it is known as Venture - the Naval Officer Training Center.
