Significance

Outremont, once a village in the County of Hochelaga, Quebec, is now a suburb of Montreal, situated on the other side of Mount Royal from the core of the city. In the badge the green is symbolic of Mount Royal including a royal crown. The gold is suggestive of the lights of Montreal and the peacock represents civic pride in the community.

Remarks

Outremont was a member of the River class of frigates. She was commissioned in November 1943, and wore pennant K322 until she was paid off in November 1945. She underwent conversion to the Prestonian class of ocean escort, and was recommissioned in September 1955. She wore pennant 310 until she was paid off in June 1965.
